The book sat on the floor discarded under the barren table.

Scene description

On the chair sat the child, in her lap a book. Above a lamp. In the middle of the scene rested the chair, standing on red carpet. To the left of the chair books took wing and flew up into the sky. Around the chair a circle of books lay open to the world. Around the circle a wall of books, tower after tower. Beyond the wall a city of books wound out into the distance. High in the sky above flocks of booms took flight. Only when a book was read could it be added to the world. Every day more books appeared.
